What is the Fair360 Top Companies?
The Fair360 Top Companies survey has been the leading assessment of workplace inclusivity in corporate America for over 20 years. Hundreds of companies participate in the free annual survey. Companies that do business with Fair360 do not receive preferential treatment.
The list is derived exclusively from corporate survey submissions. To be considered for a spot in the Fair360 Top Companies, a company must score above average in all five areas. Companies are evaluated within the context of their own industries.
Participants receive a free 10-page report card with comparative data and analytics. Companies do not have to compete in the Top Companies competition to receive a report card.
How does participating in the Fair360 Top Companies benefit my company?
Fair360’s Top Companies survey delivers data-driven insights that empower internal teams to create a workplace that not only enhances the employee experience but also leads to improved financial outcomes and a better bottom line.
What are the criteria to apply for the Fair360 Top Companies?
- Have at least 750 U.S. employees
- Submit a notarized form signed by either the CEO, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) or a corporate officer (other than the Chief Equity Officer or person responsible for workplace fairness) affirming that all data submitted is accurate. All data considered for Fair360’s Top Companies rankings are U.S.-based.
- It’s optional to complete NOD’s Disability Employment Tracker (now the Disability Inclusion Blueprint).
- At least one employee from each company named to the Fair360 Top Companies must attend the Top Companies dinner in order to complete the application process and maintain a spot on the list.
Do you have to pay to participate?
No. Every company that completes the survey will receive a free report card assessing overall performance—versus all participants—across the five key areas measured. Companies that would like more in-depth benchmark comparisons should contact Top50@fair360.com.
When is the submission deadline?
To compete and be recognized in May 2025, all entries must be submitted by March 15th, 2025.
When will the results be announced?
The results of the 2025 survey will be announced on May 6, 2025 at Cipriani’s Wall Street in New York City.
Where will information about my company be published or available online?
If your company is named to the Fair360 Top Companies, its name will appear on Fair360’s website and other marketing channels. However, the purpose of the survey is self-improvement. It offers a year-over-year look at your progress and improvements in building an inclusive workplace.
How is the survey administered/distributed?
If you meet the above criteria and have submitted a request to participate, you will receive a link to participate in the Top Companies survey. Additional instructions and information will be shared in that email.
What information will I need to gather in order to complete the survey on behalf of my company?
The survey requires data that correspond with five areas of workplace inclusivity:
- Human Capital Metrics: Total workforce, total management, number of employees at each level of management, promotions, retention and new hires
- Organizational Structure: Board of Directors, CEO and Senior Leadership and Executive Diversity Councils
- Talent Programs: Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), high potential, mentoring and sponsorship programs
- Talent Acquisition, Development & Management: Talent acquisition, training and talent management
- Supplier Diversity: Spend with companies owned by people from underrepresented groups
What is the scoring rubric?
Scoring utilizes a proprietary weighted algorithm based on company performance in five areas of workplace inclusion listed above.
What is the reporting period for the survey?
Most companies use the previous calendar year. For example, the 2025 survey would use January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024. However, you may use your company’s fiscal year as your reporting period so long as the timeframe for reporting is consistent year to year. We recommend using the calendar year to give you the most accurate comparative data.
Can we include employees outside of the United States?
No. You may only enter data about your programs and employee representation in the United States (including U.S. territories).
Can we request copies of our prior submissions from previous years?
Yes. You can log into the Momentive web-based platform to access a PDF of prior submissions.
Do I need any special software to access the survey?
No. Our survey is a web-based survey administered via Momentive (formerly SurveyMonkey).
Can multiple people access the application/survey?
Yes. You can add multiple collaborators through the Momentive web-based platform.
If you give a collaborator access to the platform, do they have viewing or editing options for the entire survey?
Yes. The platform allows you to set the level of access so that some users have editor access and others have viewing access only.
If we enter responses into Momentive now, can we change them later?
Yes. However, you can only change your responses before hitting “submit.” Once the survey responses have been submitted through Momentive, they can no longer be altered.
Do we have to provide answers to all the questions in the survey to compete?
No. The survey will notify you of the questions that require a response.
Who do we contact if we have questions and/or need technical support accessing or completing the survey?
Please send an email to Top50@fair360.com with your question(s) and/or technical issue(s).
Do you confirm the information from companies that apply for your Top Companies award?
No. We do require companies to have their CEO or another company officer (excluding the Chief Inclusion Officer) sign a letter confirming that, to the best of their knowledge, the data submitted is correct. The letter must be notarized.
What is Fair360's policy on data handling and privacy?
