New Gallup Survey: Americans Have Warmed to the Business Case. Their Employers Haven’t Kept Up.

Seventy-one percent of Americans surveyed told Gallup that businesses with diverse workforces are more profitable, up from 61% a year ago, in the Bentley University-Gallup Business in Society survey released September 16. Seventy-five percent said those companies make more innovative products, up from 64%. The gains crossed party lines: Democrats moved to 92% on profitability, independents to 70% and Republicans to 41%, the latter two each up 11 points. The survey was fielded May 4–11.
