National Disability Employment Awareness Month 2024: Access to Good Jobs for All

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is observed in October. During this time, we reflect on the significance of fostering inclusive and equitable workplaces for people with disabilities. This year’s theme is “Access to Good Jobs for All.” It underscores the vital importance of ensuring that individuals with disabilities have equal opportunities to thrive in their careers.

Fair360 produced this NDEAM 2024 Cultural Connection Toolkit in collaboration with the National Organization on Disability (NOD), a nonprofit that collaborates with top brands to assess and improve their disability inclusion practices and policies. This toolkit provides valuable insights and practical strategies to support disability inclusion. In addition, it features an insightful article on digital accessibility in the workplace and a comprehensive timeline of pivotal moments in disability rights history. Furthermore, it includes a facts and figures section that sheds light on the number of Americans with disabilities and workplace facts about employees with disabilities.

We have transformed and enhanced our popular Meeting in a Box into a Cultural Connection Toolkit, designed to foster closer, more inclusive and understanding team environments through cultural education and facilitated discussions. By engaging with the diverse stories, experiences and perspectives highlighted in this toolkit, you will deepen your understanding of NDEAM. As a result, you will cultivate a workplace culture that celebrates and respects the contributions of all its members.
