Career Advice: Alixe Seebauer – Leveraging Opportunities to Advance at Work

How can you position yourself for new opportunities at your job?

In this week’s installment of our Career Advice video series, Linda Bell, Head of Content at Fair360, spoke with  the Fair360 2023 Top 50 Companies for Diversity list).

“I took steps throughout my career to do things I didn’t think I could do,” she said.

“How to make yourself stand out? Figure out what those strengths are. Find those opportunities. Don’t be afraid to take that to a new place or new opportunity and try it out. As long as you are consistent and persistent, you will stand out. Because that’s what folks are looking for. People who aren’t afraid to try things and people that can apply their skills and deliver in a consistent fashion.”

“Prioritizing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in all that we do will make us a better company, a better employer and a better contributor to the communities we touch. We can see clearly where we continue to make progress on diversity, equity and inclusion. We track global workforce shifts to determine where to make the most impactful community and academic investments that can help solve the pipeline challenge. From there, we are working to achieve executive gender parity, aiming for 50% women executives across the globe, and we seek to double the representation of people of color in executive roles compared to 2020.”

From the Company

RTX is one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies and pushes the limits of technology and science – redefining how we connect and protect our world. With 185,000 employees worldwide and 126,000 residing in the United States, we work to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) into all aspects of our business to drive innovation and results.

DE&I Matters – Prioritizing the inclusion of different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives fosters a culture of inclusion and belonging, where everyone has an equitable opportunity to thrive.

Our Approach – We are only able to unlock the power of all when we embrace everyone’s individual journeys and perspectives. DE&I is engrained in our culture and continues to be a focus of our top-most leadership. Our executive chairman, chief human resources officer (CHRO), chief diversity officer (CDO) and board of directors set our overarching DE&I priorities, and our Global DE&I Advisory Board, led by our executive chairman, partners with our senior leadership team to implement said strategy.

How We Implement DE&I – Our DE&I Pillars for Action, public policy advocacy, workforce diversity, community engagement and supplier diversity, help advance underrepresented groups through accountable actions and build a stronger business through diverse perspectives.
